When Philippe JACQUELINET created the company with his wife in 1993, he specifically chose the direct sales channel : « I wanted to be a creator and a distributor to have complete control of my brand. And this was not possible in a classical sales network. In addition, creating our own sales outlets requires a huge investment”
That is the reason why CAPTAIN TORTUE, a middle to top of the range brand for children age 0 to 16, has been created. “ Despite of an old-fashioned image, the direct sales channel is a modern network. It provides the opportunity to enter the market, if the product has a good quality” says Philippe Jacquelinet.
The CAPTAIN TORTUE show typically has four to six customers with average show sales of 470 euros. After the launch of MISS CAPTAIN, the women clothes range, Philippe Jacquelinet created a subsidiary company in Spain at the end of 2003. In France, the company employs 750 consultants and achieves 17 million euros turnover.
